I kicked my wife out of the house and shielded my daughter from her after discovering where shed been taking the girl.
Weve been married for six years. She has an eight-year-old daughter who was just two when we met. Her father vanished months before she was born, then showed up out of the blue last December on our doorstep while I was at work. The first time my daughter saw him, he barely glanced at her.
Two weeks later, my wife tells me theyve agreed to shared custody. She refused to give me his address or even his phone number.
She always drives our daughter to and from school and clubs.
But in early January, I noticed my daughter started dreading visits to her fathers. She said his place was filthy, terrifying, and she couldnt sleep there. She told meright in front of her motherthat she never wanted to go back. Then last Friday happened.
My wife finished work at 8 PM and was supposed to pick her up. By 9, they still werent home, and she wasnt answering her phone. I called her sisters, her mumno one knew where she was. I went to her workplaceempty.
Just after 2 AM, they finally walked in. I stood there, shaking with anger. My wife murmured, *”Sorry,”* with this innocent look. Her story?
Her phone died at work. She drove to her exs place but thought no one was home. Couldnt call, so she waited. They showed up after 9 with takeaway. The father claimed theyd walked to the shop and grabbed food on the way back. She went inside, let them finish eating, then *”dozed off”* on the sofa. Woke at 1:45 AM, panicked, and raced home. Said she was exhausted, had a rough day.
Finally, she gave me his address and asked me to drop our daughter off the next day. When I got thereit was a squalid roadside shack in a rough estate! Cockroaches everywhere, beer bottles strewn across the floor. The man sat in his underwear on a stained couch, staring blankly at nothing. I turned right around and drove my daughter home.
Tonight, I found out my wife had been giving him money*our* moneytopping up his phone from our household budget. Are they back together? Either way, Im done with the lies. Id bet my last quid theyve been sleeping together.
Last night, I told her to leave. Demanded our daughter stay with methis is the only place shes safe. I wont send her back to that hovel! Even my mother-in-law fully supports her living with me. Legally, Im her guardian.
Seems Ive got no choice. Well see how this plays out.
