I threw my wife out of the house and shielded my daughter after discovering where she was taking the girl.
My wife and I have been together for six years. She has an eight-year-old daughter, who was just two when we met. Her biological father left months before she was born, but out of the blue, he showed up at our doorstep in December while I was at work. When my daughter first saw him, he barely acknowledged her.
Two weeks later, my wife suddenly told me theyd agreed on shared custody. She refused to tell me where he lived or even give me his number.
She always drove our daughter to school and picked her up from clubs.
But in early January, I noticed our girl became reluctant to visit her father. She said his place was awfuldirty, scary, and impossible to sleep in. She even told me, in front of her mother, that she never wanted to go back. Then, last Friday
My wife finished work at 8 p.m. and was supposed to collect our daughter shortly after. By 9 p.m., neither had returned, and my wife wasnt answering her phone. I called her sisters, her motherno one knew where she was. I even went to her workplace, but it was empty.

Her phone died at work. She drove to her exs place but assumed no one was home. With no way to call, she waited. They finally arrived after 9 p.m., carrying takeaway. He claimed theyd walked to the shop and grabbed food on the way back. She went inside, let them finish eating, then dozed off on the sofa. She woke at 1:45 a.m. and rushed home, blaming exhaustion from a long day.
Eventually, she gave me his address and asked me to drop our daughter off the next day. When we arrived, I was shockedit was a run-down shack by the roadside, in a rough part of town. Cockroaches everywhere, beer bottles littered about. He sat there in his underwear, staring blankly. I turned around and took my daughter straight home.
That evening, I learned my wife had been giving him money and topping up his phone from our family budget. Had they become a couple? Either way, Id had enough of the deceit. I suspect theyd been sleeping together.
Last night, I told her to leavebut demanded our daughter stay. This is the only place shes safe. I wont send her into that squalor! Even my mother-in-law fully supports her living with me. Legally, Im listed as her guardian.
